The Sélection Retraite Academy coordinates and holds refresher courses for professionals who work with the elderly. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that all our residents receive services that are caring, professional and safe. Always up to date with industry best practices in education, the Academy focuses on hands-on skill acquisition while striving to develop and offer the best possible training. In addition, the Academy has signed a provincial certificate of commitment to invest in skill development because we recognize that the capabilities, experience and knowledge of our employees are key to Sélection Retraite’s success.

Residents can rest assured that all currently operational Sélection Retraite facilities have a certificate of compliance for seniors’ residences. This means that they meet the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services’ criteria, which fall into three categories: information, organization and practices. A certificate attests to the fact that the private seniors’ residence is in compliance with all the criteria listed in the application manual, the conditions for obtaining a certificate of compliance and the operating standards for private seniors’ residences. Depuis le 1er juin 2021, le Commissariat aux plaintes et à la qualité des services des établissements publics est responsable des plaintes des usagers des établissements privés de son territoire et sont ainsi garant du traitement des signalements effectués dans le cadre de la Loi, visant à lutter contre la maltraitance envers les aînés et toute autre personne majeure en situation de vulnérabilité.
