At no time was I worried about my father. He was in good health and he remained in good health. The team of nurses did an exceptional job. The staff really took the time to explain the preventative measures to the residents so that they could understand. I am a nurse by profession, in Montreal, and in my opinion Sélection Retraite West Island made the right decisions and enforced the correct preventative measures during the pandemic.
I was able to visit my father regularly despite the quarantine as I give him home care. During my visits, we discussed politics, did crosswords, a bit of exercise, and we watched movies and videos on Facebook. When we watched the news on TV, my father would tell me how happy he was with his treatment at Sélection Retraite West Island. It was very reassuring for me!
Patricia and her animation team were great from A to Z. They made a real difference to my father by bringing him surprises and treats to his door from time to time. That helped him keep up his spirits and his positive outlook despite the difficult times. Management kept the residents informed on a daily basis by leaving a letter at their door. The communication was really good!
My experience has been excellent not only from the perspective of a family member, but also of a healthcare professional!
